4 Day Sahara Desert Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Valley of the Roses – Dades gorges.

After pick you up at your hotel or riad (or at the airport) departure to Ouarzazate. On the road cross the Atlas by the incredible Tizi port n’Tichka of 2,260 meters in height.

Shortly after crossing the Atlas will arrive at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, an amazing fortified city where movies like Gladiator or Kingdom of heaven were filmed.

After the visit we will take the road of the thousand Kasbahs towards Skoura where we stop at the Kasbah of Amredhyle. From here go towards Kelaat M’gouna, capital of the Valley of the Roses, for finally reaching the Dades gorges, where we stay.

Day 2: Dades Gorges – Gorges of Todra – Merzouga.

After breakfast we’ll pick up the march toward the valley of the Dades and we cross the impressive gorges of Todra. At this point we will be until time to eat.

With the renewed energy, we will take the road to Merzouga and epiphytic plants the Palm Grove of Jorf (which is said to be the place where come the best dates) and Erfoud, a nice town where you can visit a workshop of marble.

Once in Merzouga and, after recovering from the impressive image of its sand dunes, we will leave the 4X4 to get into the desert to riding a camel in search of the camp where we spend the night. In this camp we will enjoy one of the most authentic dinners throughout Morocco.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani-Alnif -Tazarine – Valley of the Draa – Ouarzazate.

If there is something that nobody can miss is to enjoy sunrise in the desert, on this day madrugaremos. After looking at this time we will take the camels to bring us closer to a hotel where we can take a shower and breakfast.

Return to Ouarzazate we will take a different path. Turning the Palm Grove of Tafilalet and the people of Rissani (origin of the alawite dynasty and the former capital of the sultans alauis) we reach to Alnif, where we will take the road that crosses the mountain range of the Anti Atlas.

Amazed at the shapes and colors of these mountains we reach Tazarine (important Berber people), N’kob, and finally to the Draa Valley and its stunning palm grove.

Already in the afternoon we will cross the Anti Atlas by the Tizi n Tnifift port (1660 meters) in the direction of Ouarzazate, where we will spend the night in a riad/kasbah.

Day 4: Ouarzazate – Marrakech.

After breakfast we will have time to visit the famous Kasbah Taourirt and Movie Studios Atlas, the most important in Africa.
We are back in Marrakech on the afternoon.
