6 Days Imperial Cities Morocco Tour

Day 1: Marrakech – Ouzoud Waterfalls.

The first day of the tour, we depart from Marrakesh at 9:00 in the morning, heading northeast until you reach the impressive waterfalls Cascades d’Ouzoud. You can walk down along the cascades, relax watching the waterfalls, have a picnic lunch or visit one of the many cafes and restaurants. Be sure to check out the wild monkeys living in the trees. Spend night en the riad.

Day 2: Ouzoud Waterfalls – Beni Mellal – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes.

The second day, after breakfast, we continue our journey in the direction of Fez through mountains in the Middle Atlas, passing through the towns of Ifrane and Azrou. During the journey through the forests of the cedars you will be able to enjoy watching the Barbary macaques or monkeys of Gibraltar.

Day 3: Fes Guided Tour.

The third day of the tour, we have reserved for Fez, the oldest imperial city of Morocco, founded in the VIII century by Moulay Idriss II. We will visit the Medina of Fez el-Bali, one of the largest medieval sites that are preserved in the world, declared Heritage of Mankind for more than 30 years. After the Medina, and you will see the Attarine, Medersa, one of the most beautiful koranic schools of Fez. The following points in the itinerary are the source Ennajarine and the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss, founder of Fez. After lunch we will visit until the Karawiyin Mosque, belonging to the Karawiyin University, the oldest in history, founded in the year 880 and, finally, you will be able to know the Medina of Fez Jdid, the new part of the city.

Day 4: Fes – Meknes – Roman ruins of Volubilis – Rabat.

The fourth day we depart Fez in the direction of the Atlantic coast to visit Meknes, one of the most important imperial cities of Moroccan territory. There you can visit luxurious palaces and beautiful mosques in addition to some of the most important souks of Morocco. After Meknes, we’ll be on their way to the roman ruins of Volubilis, a true monument declared Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO. We will finish the day in the capital city of Morocco, Rabat, where we visit Mechouar (the ramps and walls around the Royal Palace), the Kasbah of the Oudayas and magnificent Mausoleum of Mohammed V and Hassan II. We spend the night in Rabat.

Day 5: Rabat – Casablanca – Marrakech.

The last day of the tour we’ll visit the famous city of Casablanca, economic and cultural capital of Morocco. There we will see some of the most important places of the city, as is the case of the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in the world. After visiting Casablanca we will take the journey back to Marrakech, where we will spend the night en the Riad.

Day 6: Marrakech.

Departure from Marrakech’s Menara Airport. This ends your Morocco Travel experience.
